Saturday's Bundesliga predictions including Borussia Dortmund vs. Freiburg

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Bundesliga fixtures, including Borussia Dortmund vs. Freiburg.

Dortmund vs. Freiburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Borussia Dortmund host Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday with both teams level on points heading into the encounter.

Dortmund are sitting one place above Freiburg inside the Champions League qualification spots by virtue of having a superior goal difference, meaning that the visitors must win if they are to leapfrog their opponents.

We say: Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Freiburg

Both teams will head into this encounter with plenty of confidence having secured comfortable victories last weekend, and it is certainly a difficult one to predict given that they are level on points before a ball is kicked on Saturday.

Dortmund look to have gone up a level since returning after the World Cup, though, and playing on home territory should help them get over the line against a top-four competitor.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Union Berlin vs. Mainz (Saturday, 2.30pm)

An overachieving Union Berlin side welcome Mainz 05 to the German capital for a Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

With Bayern Munich not playing until Sunday, Union have the chance to go top of the table with a win here.

We say: Union Berlin 2-1 Mainz 05

The Union Berlin faithful will be hoping this fairytale lasts forever, and they will be pinching themselves if they can return to the top of the tree with a win here.

Another heavy defeat to a side near the top in midweek shows where Mainz are currently at, and they may just be outplayed here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

FC Koln vs. RB Leipzig (Saturday, 2.30pm)

A revitalised FC Koln side welcome high-flying RB Leipzig to the RheinEnergieStadion on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

Neither side has lost since returning from Germany's extended mid-season break.

We say: FC Koln 1-3 RB Leipzig

Despite Koln's strong return to action, Leipzig are beating almost everything put in front of them under Rose and will give Baumgart's side the ultimate test here.

Koln's 0-0 draw with Schalke was their first clean sheet in 14 games, and 10 of the 11 meetings between the sides have seen both teams score, so goals are to be expected in this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Frankfurt vs. Hertha Berlin (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Eintracht Frankfurt will be aiming to return to winning ways against Hertha Berlin on Saturday, having drawn their last two fixtures.

Hertha, meanwhile, could move outside of the Bundesliga's automatic relegation spots by securing an away victory.

We say: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 Hertha Berlin

Frankfurt will have taken confidence from maintaining their unbeaten away record after two tricky away trips, and Glasner's side should have too much quality for their struggling opponents.

Hertha's slide down the table in recent years has been relentless and relegation is beginning to feel like an inevitable conclusion for them this season, even if there is still plenty of time for them to turn things around.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

VfL Bochum vs. Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Hoffenheim will be aiming to end a winless run of eight league games when they travel to VfL Bochum on Saturday.

Bochum, meanwhile, have lost their last two matches in the Bundesliga and they will require a positive result in order to move outside of the relegation places.

We say: VfL Bochum 1-2 Hoffenheim

Both sides head into this fixture in poor form, with Breitenreiter's job security likely to be at significant risk should his team fall to another defeat on Saturday.

However, Hoffenheim have still been scoring plenty of goals throughout their bad patch of form, while the signing of Delaney could be a massive one given their recent issues in central midfield. We can envisage an away win, but it will be tight.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Borussia M'bach vs. Schalke (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Borussia Monchengladbach will be aiming to record successive victories when they host Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga's Saturday evening match.

Schalke ended their losing streak by drawing against FC Koln last time out, but even a victory would not move them off the foot of the table this weekend.

We say: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 Schalke 04

Schalke's improved performance and result against Koln should give them confidence of avoiding defeat against Farke's side, especially having been backed in the market this month.

However, Gladbach were ruthless against Hoffenheim and clearly have the better side on paper, which should see them earn a relatively comfortable victory in the end.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
