FIFA gives Swiss investigators Jerome Valcke email access

FIFA gives Swiss investigators access to the emails of Jerome Valcke, the organisation's suspended general secretary.

FIFA has given Swiss investigators access to the emails of the organisation's suspended general secretary Jerome Valcke.

Newspaper allegations claimed that the 54-year-old was involved in a scheme to sell World Cup tickets for above face value.

The world governing body had initially told the Swiss attorney general that it would give access to the email accounts only if "several conditions be fulfilled".

A statement from the Swiss attorney general's office read: "Today, FIFA informed the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) to unseal all email accounts belonging to Mr Jerome Valcke. Therewith, the OAG will have access to Mr Valcke's email accounts as requested."

Valcke, who describes the allegations as "fabricated", has been released from his duties pending an investigation.
