Jens Keller: 'Klaas-Jan Huntelaar close to return'

Schalke 04 boss Jens Keller hopes that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will soon return to first-team action.

Schalke 04 boss Jens Keller has revealed that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will soon return to first-team action.

The Dutchman has hardly featured this season after struggling to overcome a serious knee injury, but is on course to return before the end of the month.

"He's making good progress and will be able to help us again soon, hopefully in the first few games after the break," Keller told Schalke's official website.

"Klaas-Jan has been out for nearly seven months, so he won't be able to go from nought to 60 right away, of course. But I'm placing great hopes in him not just because of his qualities as a footballer."

Huntelaar has been with Schalke since 2010.
