Team News: Leighton Baines back for Everton against Newcastle United

Leighton Baines makes his first appearance for Everton this month against Newcastle United after recovering from a thigh strain.

England left-back Leighton Baines has recovered from a thigh strain to start for Everton in this afternoon's Premier League match against Newcastle United.

Baines's inclusion is one of five changes made by Roberto Martinez to the side that beat Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in Thursday night's Europa League tie.

Luke Garbutt drops to the bench for Baines, while the other changes see Darron Gibson, Aaron Lennon, Leon Osman and Arouna Kone return.

Newcastle, meanwhile, play their first match in 11 days and John Carver makes two changes to the side that fell to Manchester United last time out.

Jack Colback returns from suspension in place of Mehdi Abeid, while Yoan Gouffran replaces banned striker Papiss Cisse, who serves the first of his seven-game suspension for spitting at United defender Jonny Evans.
