Claudio Ranieri: 'Wayne Rooney would not get in Leicester City team'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri claims that Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney would not get into his side ahead of their upcoming visit to Old Trafford.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that Wayne Rooney would not get into his side.

The Premier League champions will travel to Old Trafford on Saturday, where Rooney has received plenty of questions recently over his place in Jose Mourinho's starting XI.

Ranieri says that he is a fan of the under-fire United skipper, but insists that he would not change his players for anybody following their title heroics last season.

"He is an amazing player. He's a champion," Ranieri is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"I love my players, and I wouldn't change my players with anybody else. I'm very pleased with them and we think we can have a very good season."

Meanwhile, United boss Mourinho has defended his skipper against the recent criticism aimed in his direction.
