Napoli remain second with San Siro draw

Napoli remain in second place after they fail to overcome visiting AC Milan at the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli missed the opportunity to regain top spot in the Serie A standings following their 1-1 home draw with AC Milan this evening.

Juventus went one point clear following their goalless draw against Bologna on Friday, but the men from Naples failed to take advantage thanks to Giacomo Bonaventura's equaliser at the Stadio San Paolo.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Lorenzo Insigne's speculative effort from 25 yards out was deflected into the bottom corner.

However, the visitors were level just five minutes later when an unmarked Bonaventura was on hand to lash the ball inside Pepe Reina's near post.

After the restart, Dries Mertens, Gonzalo Higuain and Omar El Kaddouri all had good chances to win the game for Napoli, but none of that trio could get the better of young Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

While Napoli are in second, Milan remain in sixth, four points adrift of city rivals Inter.
