Team News: Arjen Robben returns to Bayern Munich starting XI

Arjen Robben returns to the Bayern Munich starting XI for their Bundesliga clash with Stuttgart.

Arjen Robben returns to the Bayern Munich starting XI for this afternoon's Bundesliga clash with Stuttgart.

The Dutch winger scored with his first touch after coming off the bench in the 5-1 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League in midweek, and he is promoted to the starting team today in place of Thiago Alcantara.

That is one of four changes made by Pep Guardiola, with captain Philipp Lahm dropping to the bench and Javi Martinez absent from the matchday squad altogether, meaning that Rafinha comes into what looks like a three-man defence.

Joshua Kimmich comes into the midfield in place of Xabi Alonso for just his second Bundesliga start for the club alongside Arturo Vidal, who is also recalled.

For the visitors, there is just one change from last weekend's victory over Darmstadt as Filip Kostic comes in up front for the absent Martin Harnik.

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Alaba; Vidal, Kimmich, Costa; Coman, Robben, Muller; Lewandowski
Subs: Ulreich, Benatia, Thiago, Martinez, Alonso, Lahm, Badstuber

Stuttgart: Tyton; Insua, Sunjic, Baumgartl, Klein; Schwaab, Didavi, Gentner, Die; Kostic, Werner
Subs: Vlachodimos, Heise, Ristl, Ferati, Kliment, Maxim, Hlousek
